Former Bergen County assistant prosecutor, Ramsey mayor and author Richard Muti will talk about his book, "Cent' Anni: The Sinatra Legend at 100" at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26. The novel is a comprehensive look at Frank Sinatra, perhaps the most acclaimed entertainer of the 20th century and a man whose personal demons often threatened to overtake the better angels of his nature.
This new Sinatra biography has been named an award finalist in the USA Book News Best Book competition and was selected by the New Jersey State Library and produced as an audio book for the blind and reading impaired, not just in New Jersey but across the country.
"Richard Muti has thoroughly captured Frank Sinatra's complex nature – a mix of dogged determination, incomparable artistry, boundless generosity, and outright thuggishness," said former Gov. Jim Florio in a press release.
The book "ranks among the best biographies of New Jersey's most illustrious son," Florio added in the press release about the singer, who used to have a summer home in Hasbrouck Heights.
Muti is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Harvard Business School and Rutgers Law School. He is a former Navy pilot, a former assistant Bergen County prosecutor and a former mayor of his hometown, Ramsey, where his family has lived since 1911. He still lives in Ramsey with his wife, Lorraine, and their golden retriever, Miss Moneypenny.
