You can pick up the first book, Daniel James Brown's "The Boys in the Boat," at the Circulation Desk. The book recounts the tale of the U.S. rowing team at the 1936 Olympics.

One reviewer on Amazon put it this way:

I have never rowed. I have never read a rowing book that I can remember. If all stories about rowing were written like Daniel Brown's fabulous multi-level biography, I would read every one of them. This is a wonderful account, told with such detail and precision that I sometimes felt as if I were in this tale. Mr. Brown totally sucked me into his adventure.

Please register by phone at 201-337-3742, in person or online, here. There were still openings, as of Wednesday afternoon.

The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. The library is located at 2 Municipal Plaza, in Oakland. To keep up with other library events, visit its website or follow it on Facebook.
