A 19-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged with running a residential burglary and auto theft ring throughout the state last year, authorities said. A pedestrian on the sidewalk was struck and killed by a vehicle that veered off of Route 46 in Hackettstown Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, police said. A 56-year-old East Orange man was fatally stabbed at a ShopRite parking lot in Newark on the evening of Monday, Jan. 27, authorities said.
