Lyndhurst police working together stopped an overnight car burglary spree on Thursday when they arrested a North Arlington man. Responding to a call from the 300 block of Kingsland Avenue just after midnight Nov. 16, Officer Michael Scalese found a witness who reported seeing the bandit gain entries to multiple vehicles before fleeing the area on foot, Detective Lt. Car Nearly Stolen From Morris County Driveway Before Suspect Flees In Audi, Police Say
A suspect fled in an Audi after trying and failing to steal a car from a driveway in Morris County Wednesday evening, authorities said. The suspect attempted to steal the vehicle from a driveway on Robert Drive in Chatham Township around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, local police said. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled in a white Audi, authorities said. “Please remember to always lock your vehicle and remove all valuables and Key FOBS,” said Chatham Township police. Thieves Steal Two Luxury Cars From Locked Garages In Morris County
Two high-end vehicles were stolen from locked garages in Long Valley and Chester on Wednesday and Thursday, authorities said. In both incidents, the thieves accessed the garage using an opener left in an unlocked vehicle, police said. Bergen Vehicle Owner Thrown From Car Chases Thieves
A Palisades Park owner got thrown from his car as he tried to stop a trio of thieves in his driveway, authorities said. The Glen Avenue resident saw something going on in his driveway and ran out to find the thieves in his car, said Capt. Anthony Muccio, the department’s officer in charge. A pair of Prospect Park police investigators cracked a half-dozen borough car burglaries several others in surrounding towns with the arrest of a 20-year-old Paterson man. Detective Sgt. The rash of thefts from unlocked vehicles in North Jersey hit Saddle Brook, among other towns, this past weekend.
