Two-Time Felon, East Orange Resident Convicted Of Possessing Firearm An East Orange man with two prior felony convictions was found guilty of unlawfully possessing a firearm on Thursday, Jan. 25, authorities said.  In May 2019, East Orange detectives were on patrol then they discovered a group of men trespassing on a property at South Munn Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II said. As detectives approached, Cedrick Hickman dropped a bag and told police he possessed a handgun, Stephens said. The detectives took the handgun and arrested Hickman, Stephens said. Man Charged With Murder In Newark Stabbing: Prosecutor A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder in a deadly Newark stabbing, authorities said. Dathan Cuascut is accused of stabbing James Dunlap dead at 47 Miller St. on Saturday, March 12, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, said. Cuascut was charged with murder, unlawful possession of weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. The investigation is remains active and ongoing.
