Firearm In Tractor Trailer Driver's Cab Discharges In I-78 Fire
A 48-year-old tractor trailer driver from Connecticut is facing weapons offenses after his loaded handgun began discharging when his vehicle went up in flames Friday, Dec. 30 on Route 78, authorities said. The tractor trailer overturned in westbound lanes near milepost 27.1 in Bedminster around 3:50 p.m., and the vehicle became fully engulfed, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. A tractor trailer overturned on Route 440 due Tuesday morning. The incident occurred north of Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne/Jersey City around 8:40 a.m. All lanes were closed as of 8:50 a.m., 511nj.org reports.

: Dr. Pepper Pallets Strewn Across Route 78 In Tractor-Trailer Rollover Crash
A truckload of Dr. Pepper pallets were strewn across Route 78 in a Warren County rollover crash Monday night, authorities said. The tractor-trailer carrying the pallets crashed and flipped over in the westbound lanes just before exit 3, the Stewartsville Volunteer Fire Company said. The driver was able to escape from the overturned truck without injury, authorities said. “Fortunately the only injuries were pallets of #drpepper,” the department said in a Facebook post with photos of the incident.
