Pedestrian, 64, Struck, Seriously Injured By NJ Transit Bus In New Milford
A 64-year-old New Milford man was seriously injured when he was struck by a commuter bus shortly before dawn Wednesday, authorities confirmed. The victim was struck at the intersection of Madison Avenue and River Road at 6:22 a.m. Feb. 21, New Milford Police Chief Brian Clancy said. Holy Name EMS and paramedics tended to the pedestrian, who was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, the chief said. Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed After Climbing Over Route 9 Barrier In Central Jersey
Sayreville police have identified the 49-year-old pedestrian killed when he was struck by a vehicle after climbing over a concrete barrier on Route 9. Scott Munk, of Hamburg, NY, was struck at about 12:40 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 in the 900 block of Route 9 North as he tried to cross the highway, according to Sayreville Police Lt. James Novak. Munk had jumped the barrier and was struck by a passing vehicle, Novak said. The driver remained at the scene and has not been charged, the lieutenant said on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The crash remains under investigation.

Police ID Bicyclist, 44, Struck, Killed In Central Jersey Crash
Police have identified a 44-year-old bicyclist from Union County killed in a weekend crash in Middlesex Borough, authorities said. Darwin O. Mestanza Rivera, of Scotch Plains, died in the crash at 6:57 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, Middlesex Borough Police Chief Matthew P. Geist said. Mestanza Rivera was struck from behind by a Jeep Patrol as he rode west on South Avenue near the corner of Howard Street, Geist said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Ambulance Overturns At Garden State Parkway Toll Plaza
Two people were injured after an ambulance overturned at the Essex County Toll Plaza Thursday morning, June 1 on the Garden State Parkway, state police said. The crash happened at 9:06 a.m. after the ambulance struck the toll plaza, Philip Curry, a public information officer for the New Jersey State Police said. The two occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, Curry said. Toll lanes 8, 9, 10 and 11 remain closed as police continue to investigate the crash, Curry said.

A 49-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross Route 80 Saturday night, state police said. A 34-year-old North Jersey man was killed in a fiery crash on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County, State Police said. Fabrice Deryce, of Scotch Plains, was heading south in a Chevy Impala when he struck multiple fixed objects around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in Tinton Falls, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said.
