Box Truck Being Towed Tips Beneath Route 80 Overpass
A box truck tipped while being towed beneath a Route 80 overpass in Elmwood Park, jamming area traffic early Friday afternoon. Another tow was needed to straighten and remove the truck owned by Salerno's Custom Cabinetry in Saddle Brook from the corner of River Road and Market Street shortly after 1 p.m. No injuries were reported. : Driver In Fatal Passaic River Bridge Crash On Route 3 Identified
A driver who was killed in a chain-reaction crash on Route 3 was identified as a 46-year-old Kearny resident. A BMW X3 had become disabled and was stopped on the westbound Passaic River Bridge in Clifton when it was struck by a Subaru Impreza driven by Karen Garcia shortly before 5 a.m. last Thursday, Dec. 15. Garcia's Impreza was then broadsided by an oncoming Toyota Prius, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi said in a joint release on Monday, Dec. 19. Crash Causes Serious Injuries, Detours In Morris County:

A crash with serious injuries was causing several detours in Morris County on Saturday evening, authorities said. The crash occurred on Route 24 between Cliffwood Road and Fox Chase Road in Chester, police said on Facebook. A car carrier loaded with hybrids caught fire, causing some major morning headaches on northbound Route 17. Special foam was needed to help extinguish the blaze, which apparently broke out in the brake system and spread early Wednesday, Sept. 28, Saddle River Police Chief Jason Cosgriff said. A July Fourth climate protest that halted traffic on the Capital Beltway has some activists upset, saying the backup caused even more pollution. Fireworks Light Up Highway When Tractor Trailer Overturns On I-287
A tractor trailer carrying fireworks overturned causing some to set off across the roadway on Interstate 287 late Sunday, June 26. Parts of the highway were closed near Exit 14 and Route 22 in Bridgewater as of Monday morning. No injuries were reported.

: Route 10 Crash Downs Utility Poles, Knocks Power In Livingston
All lanes were closed on Route 10 when a car crash downed utility poles and knocked power out in the area Friday afternoon. The road was closed between Livingston and Hillside avenues after the 3:55 p.m. crash, police said. Police urged drivers to avoid the area until further notice. A trucker was badly burned when his tanker burst into flames after it was struck by another vehicle Friday night at a gas station off Route 1&9 in Elizabeth, responders said. Bridges Along I-78 In Bedminster, Bridgewater To Be Replaced
The state Department of Transportation has begun work on replacing four bridges on I-78 in Bridgewater and Bedminster, a project that will take place in stages over the next three years in order to minimize traffic disruption, the agency said in a statement. The bridges, which DOT said are in poor condition, carry traffic eastbound and westbound over Rt. 202/206 and over Washington Valley Road. Newark Police Looking For Driver Who Caused 3-Mile Vegetable Oil Spill
Police in Newark have released images of a truck that leaked a lengthy stream of cooking oil Tuesday, causing huge traffic headaches shortly before rush hour. The spill happened around 3:40 p.m. on Stockton, Delancy, Adams and Thomas streets and Wilson Avenue, all in the city's Ironbound section. The slick left behind was estimated to be about three miles long.
