The Newark Police Division's Summer Crime Reduction Initiative is off to a hot start. Authorities are seeking the public’s help identifying suspects in a shooting in Newark earlier this month. The suspects pictured above are wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on the 800 block of South 17th Street around 1 a.m. on Monday, July 5, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. Authorities ID 40-year-Old Man Killed In Newark Shooting
A 40-year-old man died after being shot in Newark, authorities said. Rasheen Scott was shot on the 500 block of South 17th Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. Monday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. Police are seeking a 20-year-old Union Township man charged with shooting his girlfriend dead at his house over the weekend, authorities said. Jamar I. Webber is facing charges of first-degree murder and two related weapons offenses in connection with the death of 19-year-old Malikah Taylor of Newark, Acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. A 20-year-old man was captured with help from Newark police's helicopter after leading law enforcement officials on a wild pursuit through the city over the weekend, authorities said.
