HIM? Newark Carjacking Suspect Issued Warrant
Police in Newark are seeking the public's help in locating a man wanted in a carjacking. An arrest warrant was issued for Shakur I. Harris, who is accused in an incident that occurred Aug. 23 on the 200 block of S. 19th Street, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said. Harris is approximately 5 feet and 5 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has tattoos on both arms and on the top of his right hand. Irvington Man Admits To Armed Daytime Robbery In Newark
A 34-year-old Irvington resident pleaded guilty Wednesday to robbery and weapons charges in exchange for a 12-year sentence, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Eric Gotay, who musty serve at least 85 percent of the sentence, is also facing federal weapons charges. On March 22, Gotay walked up to a deliveryman from behind as he was crossing S. 19th Street in Newark. He wrapped an arm around the victim's shoulders and placed a gun in the man's side, demanding cash. Gotay robbed the man of $468. The victim was unable to identify Gotay, who was caught on surveill…
