TGI Fridays Closing Springfield Restaurant, 30 Total Locations Across Northeast TGI Fridays is closing nearly 30 "underperforming" locations across the northeast and will sell eight restaurants to the chain's former CEO, the chain said in a news release. The 27 closures include restaurants in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Houlihan's Closes Two North Jersey Locations Two Houlihan's locations in North Jersey have closed, NJ Advance Media reports. The Bridgewater and Parsippany restaurants apparently closed on Sept. 28, the outlet said. The stores were located on 1288 Route 22 E. and 1735 Route 46. Smashburger Closes 2 Locations In North, Central Jersey A pair of New Jersey Smashburger restaurants have closed The burger joint shuttered its restaurants in Hackensack and Toms River last month. The Hackensack store was located at the Shops at Riverside, while the Toms River store was in the shopping plaza at 2 Route 37. A company spokesperson told NJ.com the locations closed to "strengthen our position as a leading better burger restaurant." Smashburger currently has 25 New Jersey restaurants, its website says.
