Rescuers were able to save 38 dogs and eight cats found in a Virginia woman's pickup truck parked in a Sussex County lot — which was also carrying 40 dead animals, each one individually wrapped and labeled, authorities said. Six Starved Kittens Rescued From Paterson Alley
Six underweight kittens abandoned in a Paterson alley will soon be in need of loving homes. The four-month-old cats were found in a pair of carriers and were described as being emaciated by Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, who is caring for them. The questions into their story are endless: Where did these kittens come from? Who could keep kittens in their home and not feed them? What if they hadn’t been discovered? Dozen Pets Rescued From Passaic County Owner's Side Days After Death
Eleven dogs and one cat were rescued from their owner’s side days after she passed away in her Passaic County home, officials said. Dogs Rescued From Illegal Scotch Plains Mill Named After 'The Office' Cast
Several small dogs rescued from an illegal Scotch Plains puppy mill are in need of homes, Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge says. While dogs in a family of Pomperanians whose future adopters are waiting anxiously pending medical clearance, several Chihuahua puppies still need families, the Oakland-based rescue says. The gentle and shy puppies need a home prepared to give them care where they will feel safe and loved, RBARI said on Facebook. 130 Animals Seized In Illegal Union County Puppy Mill
More than 130 animals were seized from an illegal puppy mill run from a Scotch Plains home that authorities said was in deplorable condition. Authorities charged Dominick Ciabattari, 60, with 10 criminal offenses and four disorderly violations -- and said they expect to add more -- after recovering two dozen cats, 71 Chihuahuas, 18 Golden Retrievers, 17 Pomeranians and 3 Pekingese dogs, officials said. "An emaciated dog in need of urgent medical care” doesn't quite describe the condition of a starving dog rescued from the streets of Paterson.
