Teens Who Tried Carjacking Bentley In Edison Arrested Two of three suspects in an attempted carjacking in Edison have been arrested, authorities said. Edison Mayor Sam Joshi said that a 16-year-old and 17-year-old had been arrested. The mayor thanked local police as well as NJ Transit and Rahway police. The attempted carjacking of a Bentley SUV occurred outside Patel Brothers grocery store on Oak Tree Road at about 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15. The driver had the key fob in his pocket, so the teens were unable to steal the SUV.

Car Collides With Telephone Pole, Two Kids Injured: Rahway Police Two juveniles were injured after a car crashed into a telephone pole in Rahway on the afternoon of Friday, June 9, authorities said. At 1:37 p.m., police were dispatched to New Church Street and Church Street on a report of a 2015 Honda Accord striking a telephone pole, Detective/Sergeant Douglas Botti said. The vehicle was occupied by four juveniles, Botti said. Two of them were taken to University Hospital in Newark, Botti said.   The crash remains under investigation, Botti said. Discovery Of Hand Grenade Brings Bomb Squad To Union County Business A worker at a trucking company was cleaning a vehicle when he found a hand grenade, drawing a large police presence Tuesday, Oct. 25, authorities confirmed. The explosive device was found by a worker at Marine Cargo on New Brunswick Avenue in Rahway, and the company's owner reported it to Rahway police around 11:45 a.m., local police said. The bomb squad responded and found the device to be inert. The device had been left in the truck by a former employee, who will not be charged, Rahway police said.

The man followed the victim home from the Rahway Train Station Monday night, and apparently committed undisclosed sexual acts, police said. He told her his name was Kevin and offered his Instagram handle, kevin_bypass, as an offer to stop following her, police said.
