'Trailblazer': Marie Strumolo-Burke, Longtime Belleville Councilwoman, Dies At 82 Marie Strumolo-Burke, an institution in the township of Belleville died on Friday, March 8 at the age of 82, Mayor Michael Melham announced. Strumolo-Burke spent two decades on the town council, representing the 1st ward and lived in Belleville for 45 years. A graduate of Central High School, where she was valedictorian, Strumolo-Burke was founder of the Silver Lake Civic Association and served as Democratic Chairwoman. We lost our good friend Marie Strumolo Burke. God has taken her away from us and must have other work for her to do. She will forever be remembered for all she has done …
