Firefighters Battle Smoky Attic Blaze In Hunterdon County Firefighters made quick work of an attic that went up in flames in Hunterdon County over the weekend. The Lebanon Township Fire Department responded to the blaze at a home on Silker Road around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, the squad said. Upon arrival, the department confirmed a fire in the attic and had to open up the roof to gain access. Victim Rescued From Crumpled Car, Taken To Trauma Center After Route 78 Crash (Photos) One person had to be extricated from a crumpled car and taken to a nearby trauma center following a crash on Route 78 in Hunterdon County, authorities said. The crash occurred near the intersection of Route 78 and Route 523 in Tewksbury on the morning of Tuesday, April 12, according to the Whitehouse Rescue Squad. Photos show the nearly unrecognizable vehicle after it had struck a telephone pole near an underpass. Photos: 3-Alarm Fire Destroys Hunterdon County Home Fire crews jumped to action to knock down a three-alarm blaze at a Hunterdon County home. The fire broke out early Sunday morning at a home in East Whitehouse, according to a Facebook post from the Oldwick Fire Company. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered smoke coming from the back of the home and stretched multiple lines to the basement, authorities said. Two dozen fire units worked on the blaze for more than seven hours before clearing the scene, authorities said. Fire crews in Whitehouse, East Whiehouse and Readington also assisted, authorities said.
