Paterson Man Captured After Wild Stolen Car Chase Charged In Ridgewood Crime Spree A Paterson man captured in Paramus after a wild stolen car chase that went through several Bergen County towns was responsible for a series of vehicle thefts and burglaries, as well as home break-ins in Ridgewood, authorities said. John Chavan Johnson, 32, remained held Wednesday in the Bergen County Jail following his arrest two days earlier. He’s charged with five counts of burglary, six of theft, three of resisting arrest among 19 offenses in all, most of them in Ridgewood.
