Authorities were investigating after a man's body was found at the Morristown train station overnight Sunday. The unidentified man's body was found around 12:30 a.m. on a stairwell at the Morris Street station, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said alongside local and county authorities. A Newark man was charged with assaulting a teen girl in a violent Montclair home invasion last month, authorities said Tuesday. Anthony L. Harper, 30, is accused of breaking into a Hillside Avenue apartment through an unlocked window and demanding money from a 17-year-old girl shortly before 3:30 p.m. Oct. 19, police said. Union Man Gets 8 Years For Beating Pregnant Bus Driver In Elizabeth
A Union man who was just months out of prison when he attacked a pregnant bus driver early this year was sentenced to another eight years, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said. Andre Dawson III, 39, has an extensive criminal history that includes 40 arrests and 13 felony convictions, which led to the extended sentence. A 39-year-old Union resident pleaded guilty to assaulting a pregnant NJ Transit bus driver, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. Andre Dawson III attacked the woman around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 28 while the bus was traveling in Elizabeth at Broad Street and Westfield Avenue. The woman suffered bumps, cuts and bruises in the attack.
