A New Jersey State trooper suffered moderate injuries when his parked cruiser was struck by a car in a construction zone, authorities said. On Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024, at 3:38 a.m. construction work was being conducted on Route 18 in East Brunswick Township, according to Troy McNair, a State Police spokesman. The southbound lanes at the intersection of Tice Lane were closed by a marked troop car and a NJDOT crash attenuator truck. Pedestrian Killed On NJ Turnpike
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on the NJ Turnpike in Mercer County Saturday, April 16, authorities said. The crash occurred on the northbound side of the highway in the outer roadway at milepost 68.4 in East Windsor around 12:25 p.m., New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The driver of the car that struck the victim remained on scene and was not injured while the pedestrian was pronounced dead, Goez said. The right two lanes were closed for accident investigation.

NJ State Trooper Airlifted In Garden State Parkway Crash
A New Jersey State Trooper was airlifted in a crash on the Garden State Parkway Friday afternoon, authorities said. The two-car crash closed the southbound side of the highway causing heavy delays around 1:30 p.m. near Exit 145 in East Orange, New Jersey State Police said. The trooper was in and out of consciousness after the crash, but suffered non life-threatening injuries, sources with direct knowledge of the crash told Daily Voice. A New Jersey State Trooper was rushed to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself in New York's Penn Station Sunday night, CBS News reports. The trooper was apparently adjusting his belt when his weapon discharged on a platform in the Amtrak section of the station, NJ.com reports. Prosecutor: Jersey City Man, 28, Pleads Guilty To Meth Possession Charge In Sussex County
A Jersey City man pleaded guilty to possession of meth in Sussex County, authorities said. Charles Burbeng, 28, entered the guilty plea to an indictment for third-degree possession of CDS and a driving while suspended offense during a hearing Thursday at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said. Burbeng admitted to possessing meth tablets and driving with a suspended license in Montague Township on Jan. 25, 2019, Koch said. Burbeng will be sentenced on June 3. New Jersey State Trooper J.C. Rodriguez also assisted with the investigation.
