Irvington Man Shot Dead In Union A 22-year-old Irvington man was shot and killed in Union over the weekend, authorities said. Emmanuelle Florestal was found suffering gunshot wounds on the 2000 block of Morris Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, Union County Prosecutor William A. The home on Arnet Avenue off Morris Avenue was evacuated of family members in the standoff, which began around 7:40 p.m. with a report of a man armed with a shotgun barricaded inside, responders said. Longtime Union Christmas Tree Lot Loses Its Location, May Not Reopen For decades Christmas trees were sold at a spot in Union. But not this year.  In a Facebook post addressed to his "loyal and valued customers", Anthony Bentivegna announced that he will no longer be selling trees from a lot at 48 Morris Ave. "After 20 years," Bentivegna wrote, the landlord declined to renew his lease for the spot.  He managed to find a new location, but said a shortage may make it impossible for him to sell trees this year.  "I will keep you posted," Bentivegna also wrote.
