High School Water Fight In Linden Leads To Injured Police, Four Arrested A group of kids having a water fight near police officers at Linden High School ended with several Linden police officers suffering minor injuries and four people arrested on Wednesday, May 10. Police were conducting a  traffic stop near the high school while several kids were in the area squirting water guns and throwing water balloons at each other, police said.  During the water fight, an 18-year-old man pointed a water gun at police and squirted it, hitting the officer in the face, police said.  While the officer attempted to detain the combative teenager, 30-40 kid…

Authorities ID Man Shot Dead In East Orange Authorities have identified a man who was shot dead in East Orange last weekend. Troy Traynham, 59, was shot outside his Chestnut Street apartment on Saturday, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi. Traynham was taken to University Hospital where he died. No arrests have been made in the deadly shooting. Traynham worked for Allied Universal Security Services, among other companies, as a security officer, according to his Facebook page. Linden High On Lockdown After 3 Students Struck By Vehicle Linden High School was in a shelter in place Tuesday morning after a group of students were struck by a car, authorities said. A 14-year-old girl, and two 15-year-old boys were struck at while in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of  W. St. George Avenue and Ainsworth Street by a 2009 Nissan Rogue heading east on W.
