A vacant home went up in flames in a two-alarm fire in Rahway on the evening of Tuesday, April 16, authorities said. At 11 p.m., the Rahway Police Department and Rahway Fire Department responded to 1334 Pierce St. for a fire in a vacant 2-story 1-family wood frame home, Rachel Smith, the chief communications officer for the city said. Shots Fired Into Linden Home: Police
Several gunshots were fired into a home in Linden on the evening of Sunday, April 14, police said. At 10:35 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Elmwood Terrace on a report of shots fired and discovered a suspect or suspects fired several shots into the home before running from the scene, Linden police said in a release. Corrections Officer Shoots 21-Year-Old Thinking He's Under Attack In Trenton: Prosecutor
A New Jersey corrections officer shot a 21-year-old woman in Trenton on March 18 after the rear window of his vehicle was inexplicably shattered, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said. The corrections officer thought he was being shot at, but it turned out that a thrown paint can had broken his window, the prosecutor said. The incident occurred on the 500 block of Bellevue Avenue at about 12:20 a.m. The injured woman was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition, authorities said. The incident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.

The discovery was made around noon Saturday, Jan. 20 in Weequahic Park in Newark, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. No further information was released.
