Highrail Brewing Company on Main Street in High Bridge is set to reopen on weekends starting Saturday, July 23, the business announced on Facebook. A carbon monoxide scare evacuated a Hunterdon County ShopRite Thursday morning, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to the Franklin Township store and confirmed elevated CO levels, the Quakertown Fire Company said. Man, 60, Dies After Slamming Jeep Into High Bridge Home
A 60-year-old Califon man died after crashing his car into a High Bridge home, authorities said. Wayde Scheffer was heading north on West Main Street when he crossed into oncoming traffic, slamming his 2018 Jeep Cherokee into the front deck of a house around 5:20 p.m., Monday, High Bridge Police Chief Brett Bartman said. There were multiple residents inside the house but none were injured, the chief said. Scheffer did not have any passengers in his vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.

Man Walking On Tracks Killed By Train In High Bridge
A man walking on NJ Transit tracks in Hunterdon County was stuck by a Raritan Valley Line train early Monday morning, officials said. The non-revenue train moving westbound toward High Bridge did not have any passengers on it when it struck the man east of the Lebanon station around 5:15 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. Firefighters rescued a teenage boy stuck in a tree hanging over a waterfall in Hunterdon County Friday. High Bridge police responded to a wooded area near the Lake Solitude waterfall off the Columbia Trail behind houses on Mountain Avenue just after 12:30 p.m., authorities said. A Hunterdon County man was arrested by authorities who said he had nearly 45,000 photos and videos of child pornography.
