The 25-year-old rookie quarterback for the NY Giants spent this past weekend the only way a guy his age from the area should. Video shows an assistant boys lacrosse coach from Don Bosco Prep shoving an opposing player from St. Joseph Regional High School to the ground during a skirmish that broke out Saturday in Ramsey. Driven. Dedicated. And an overall delight. This is how Pete Meile is being remembered. The Ramsey native died Dec. 17, just six days shy of his 29th birthday. Meile, a triplet, grew up playing football alongside his brothers, Matt and Billy. He was "the youngest but the largest," a feature article in the Times Union reads. A Bergen County high school recently ranked the best America and an elite prep school have both switched to remote learning after individuals tested positive for Coronavirus. Don Bosco Prep has cancelled athletic events and went remote Wednesday, after two students tested positive. Cliffside Park Baseball Coach Ben Luderer, 30, Dies Of Coronavirus
A 30-year-old Cliffside Park baseball coach and special education teacher died from complications related to coronavirus. Ben Luderer, of River Vale, was starting catcher for Don Bosco Prep's team in 2008 -- which won the national championship with a 33-0 finish -- and later played for Marist College. Cliffside Park Superintendent Michael Romagnino announced Luderer's passing Monday.
