Authorities have identified the woman struck and killed by a car at a Union County shopping mall on Saturday, Feb. 12. Maha W. Qalawi, 51, of Edison, was struck around 2:30 p.m. at Clark Commons, and the driver remained on the scene, Assistant Union County Prosecutor Michael Sheets told Daily Voice. Central Jersey Driver, 78, Charged In Deadly Clark Hit-Run
A 78-year-old Central Jersey driver was charged in a Union County hit-and-run that killed an 82-year-old man. Thiruvenk Srinivasan, 78, of Edison, was charged with a single count of second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident in connection with last month's crash, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Clark Police ID Suspect Vehicle In Fatal Hit-Run
Clark police have released photos of the suspect vehicle that struck and killed an 82-year-old man earlier this week. The suspect vehicle is a red or maroon 1994-2004 Chevy S-10 or GMC Sonoma hit James B. Leinbach 6 a.m. Tuesday near Raritan Road and Clarkton Drive, local police said. The vehicle fled eastbound and Leinbach was pronounced dead. The vehicle should have damage to the passenger's side front fender, antenna and side view mirror, police said. Prosecutor's Office Taking Over 2nd Union County Police Department Amid Misconduct Allegations
The Union County Prosecutor's Office (UCPO) will be assuming control of the Clark Police Department over misconduct allegations effective immediately, authorities announced Thursday. An investigation into allegations of misconduct involving the police department's leadership will be helmed by the UCPO and assisted by the State Attorney General's Office, Attorney General Gurbir S. Police in Clark are looking for two people who may have followed a couple before robbing them In front of their Clark residence Monday night. The couple were returning to their home in the 600 block of Raritan Road around 8:15 p.m. after having dinner in Bergen County and pulled into the driveway. When they got out of their white Maserati two males in hoodies approached. : Woman, 71, Struck And Killed By Car In Clark
The Clark Police Department was investigating Saturday after a 71-year-old woman was struck by a car and suffered serious injuries, a department spokeswoman said. The woman was struck near the ShopRite supermarket at Raritan Road and Central Avenue around 8:30 a.m. She was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Newark. Police later Saturday said the woman died of her injuries. She was not immediately identified. Police also said that the driver remained at the scene and called 9-1-1.
