A Mercedes Benz heading west in the local lanes struck the back of a Nissan Rogue near mile marker 53.1 in Union Township around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said.
The baby in the Nissan suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The driver, a 45-year-old male of Snellville, GA and another passenger, a 25-year-old female of East Elmhurst, NY sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a 37-year-old male from Irvington, sustained moderate injuries and the passenger, a 32-year-old male of Jersey City, sustained minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
