Pursuit Goes Up, Down Route 208, Ends In Wyckoff Crash: Franklin Lakes PD A late-night pursuit that began in Franklin Lakes ended with a crash in Wyckoff and all four occupants bailing out, authorities said. Franklin Lakes Officer Matthew Garrison was on routine patrol when he spotted a suspicious-looking BMW X2 on Longbow Drive near Franklin Lake Road around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, Capt. Mark McCombs said. An attempt to stop the vehicle on nearby Orchard Lane prompted the driver to hit the gas and speed off, he said. Police: Franklin Lakes Car Thieves Steal BMW, Burglarize Six Other Vehicles Thieves hit Franklin Lakes before dawn Tuesday, stealing a BMW and burglarizing six other vehicles, authorities said. The BMW was reported stolen from a Scioto Drive driveway, Capt. John Bakelaar said. Three vehicles were entered on Garden Court, as were two others on Longbow Drive and another on Northwood Drive, the captain said. Like the stolen BMW, all of the vehicles were parked in driveways, Bakelaar said. Police and prosecutors throughout North Jersey have been warning vehicle owners to not become victims.
