A senior driver from New Milford escaped serious injury when a sedan slammed into a Paramus hair salon Tuesday morning. No one in the salon was injured, either, witnesses said. UPDATE: A sedan packed with eight teens downed a utility pole in Upper Saddle River, yanking down high-tension wires, igniting two fires and knocking out power to some local customers, authorities said. Wood-Ridge Firefighters Douse Blaze At Route 17 Auto Dealership
Firefighters doused a small blaze at a Route 17 auto dealership. The two-alarm debris fire ignited in the detailing room at East Coast Toyota on the southbound highway in Wood-Ridge around 10:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, responders said. Borough firefighters knocked it down within 20 minutes. A security guard wasn't immediately accounted for, responders said. Mutual aid responders at the scene or in coverage included firefighters from Carlstadt, East Rutherford and Hasbrouck Heights.

FedEx Van Gets Wedged Under Glen Rock Building: Guess How They Got It Out
A FedEx driver continued delivering packages after accidentally wedging his van beneath a Glen Rock office building. The vehicle took out a sprinkler pipe at the Harristown Road building off Lincoln Avenue Monday morning. "At least my truck is getting washed,” the driver told a responding police officer. A dump truck driver escaped serious injury in a crash Friday near the Haledon Reservoir in Franklin Lakes, authorities said. The results of a medical exam will determine whether summonses are in store for a Glen Rock driver whose car barreled across a sidewalk and lawn and into another borough resident’s house, authorities said.
