Deputy Mayor Elie Katz told the Township Council last week the Zoning Subcommittee envisions mixed-use buildings “that could be several stories tall” on the narrow strip parallel, but without direct access, to the highway, NorthJersey.com reported.
According to NorthJersey.com, Katz said development won’t occur right away. Developers will have to wait for existing landowners to sell, and must acquire and merge smaller properties, NorthJersey.com said.
The rezoning recommendations are part of an effort by the governing body to increase tax revenues, NorthJersey.com said.
