PHOTOS: A female pedestrian was struck and killed by a dump truck at the Route 495 ramp from Park Avenue near the Weehawken-Union City border this morning.
Port Authority police officers conducted CPR on the woman just after the 7:10 a.m. incident, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The woman, whose identity wasn’t immediately determined, was taken by ambulance to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead a little over two hours later, he said.
The victim was crossing North Marginal Highway with a green light when she was struck by the truck as it turned right from Pleasant Avenue.
No summonses were issued, Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari said.
