Bails ranged from $250,000 to $325,000.
Witnesses in the area of Ayers Court and Hill Street reporting hearing four or five shots before seeing two cars speed away the night of Jan. 4.
They also said they saw at least four people crouching bethind a vehicle that had a shattered window and a damaged side.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation collected evidence, while Teaneck detectives determined the shooting was sparked by a dispute between two groups on Twitter, Police Chief Robert Carney said Thursday afternoon.
Ridgefield Police helped the investigators identify suspects in the online dispute, the chief said.
Carney's detectives obtained warrants that allowed them to seize cellphones, he added.
"The search of the phones, which was conducted with the assistance of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, revealed incriminating evidence relating to the shooting," Carney said.
Arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder were Fady Nazir, 21, Erick Green, 20, Manual Habashee, 19, Harold Mercado, 18, and Sebastian Flores, 19.
Green, Mercado and Flores were also charged with conspiracy to commit robbery. They were being held on $325,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail.
Nazir, meanwhile, was also charged with luring. He wa being held on $300,000 bail. Habashee was being held on $250,000 bail.
Detectives arrested Nazir at his Ridgefield Park home on Wednesday and Mercado at his Fort Lee home on Thursday, the chief said.
Habashee, of Ridgefield Park, turned himself in on Thursday, he said.
Green and Flores -- also both of Ridgefield Park -- were served at the Bergen County Jail, where they were each being held in connection with unrelated offenses, Carney said.
The teenager was taken into custody on a juvenile complaint of conspiracy to commit murder and robbery, Carney said. He was released pending a hearing in the Family Division of Superior Court in Hackensack.
Carney thanked the county prosecutor's and sheriff's offices and Ridgefield Park and Fort Lee police.
