Kevin P. Hotchkiss, 47, was being held on $5,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail this morning, charged with three illegal weapons possession counts, including being a felon in possession of a handgun.

The Hamilton Road woman — described only as a relative of his — got her children out of the house and dialed 911 around 7 p.m., emergency responders with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Although a request was made for a Bergen County Police SWAT team, Teaneck officers who responded immediately to the scene cancelled the call after finding the 5-foot-9-inch, 198-pound Hotchkiss hiding in some bushes, they said.

He was drunk and had cuts on his hand and forearm — apparently from breaking a door pane.
