Eric Feliz was being held in the Bergen County Jail pending extradition.
Authorities armed with 25 arrest warrants fanned out yesterday, primarily in Berks County, Pa., as part of an investigation that they said began last July — and relied in large part on court-authorized wiretaps.
As of late yesterday, 19 people, including Feliz, were in custody, Berks County law enforcement officials said.
“Around midday they contacted us for assistance,” Teaneck Detective Lt. Andrew R. McGurr said this morning. “[M]embers of the Teaneck Police Department’s Detective Bureau conducted a surveillance on an address on East Maple Street in Teaneck. After approximately 3 hours, the suspect arrived at the residence.”
All told, investigators seized:
3 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $300,000;
250 grams of Heroin with a street value of $75,000;
Drug “cutting” ingredients;
Drug paraphernalia;
More than $50,000 in cash;
Three handguns and a sawed-off shotgun;
A vehicle with a hidden trap to hide drugs.
Described as mid-to-high-level ring members, most of those arrested were charged with distributing, or conspiring to distribute, cocaine, heron and marijuana and related counts.
Among the participating agencies were the Berks County Drug Task Force, the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and drug task force members for three Berks County police departments.
