Teaneck jewelry store employee charged in sex with girl

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A married Lodi man who works for a Teaneck jeweler is being held on $250,000 bail, charged with inappropriate sexual behavior with an underaged girl, following his arrest Thursday by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and Lodi police.

Manuel Mejia, 51, of Corabelle Avenue, is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment.

The alleged sexual abuse was first reported to the New Jersey Division of Youth and Families (DYFS), which contacted the prosecutor’s office.

An arraignment date in Lodi Municipal Court had not been set as of this afternoon.
