Teaneck electrician charged with having sexual communication with girl, 14

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 54-year-old married electrician from Teaneck had inappropriate sexual communication with a 14-year-old girl, authorities said today in announcing his arrest.

Carlos Reyes was being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail on an third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact charge and a count of child endangerment.

The girl confided in a school counselor who contacted the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) and Teaneck Police Department, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

After police contacted his office, the victim was interviewed yesterday by them and detectives from his Special Victims Unit, the prosecutor said. She “provided specific details” about what had occurred, he said.

Reyes was being arraigned in Teaneck Municipal Court this afternoon.
