None of seven people at home when someone shot at the Washington Avenue two-story home around 8:40 p.m. — one of which passed through a glass front door and the other that lodged in the aluminum siding — was injured last night.

This follows an incident reported just after 1 a.m. Monday, in which a shigle shot was fired into an Amsterdam Avenue residence, Lt. Andrew McGurr said. None of six people home at the time was injured, he said.

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence at both scenes.

“As of this writing, it is not clear whether or not the two incidents are related,” McGurr said this morning. “It is also not clear whether or not the shots in both incidents were fired from passing vehicles, although that is a strong possibility.

He asked that anyone with information that could help the investigation call Teaneck police: (201) 837-2600.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous can contact the Tri Community Crime Stoppers, which pays up to $1,000 cash rewards for information leading to arrests: (201) 833-4222.
