YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: Two Port Authority police officers involved in delivering a baby boy in the back of a taxi in lower Manhattan visited the mother and child yesterday.
PAPD Officer Pasquale Carpentiere was on red light enforcement detail at the corner of Hudson and Laight streets when the cabbie got his attention around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
Carpentiere (above, right) requested EMS and delivered the 7½-pound boy, he said.
Officers Jorge Negron and Agostinho Matias (above, left), who also is a registered nurse, arrived soon after and helped stabilize 39-year-old Alertime Antoncik of the Bronx and her child — named Alex Troy Nareisse — until EMS arrived, Pentangelo said.
Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital, where Carpentire and Matias visited them yesterday.
