Teaneck detectives working an undercover operation nabbed Antonio Singletary, 43, last Oct. 20 after they said he broke into five homes in Teaneck and Englewood, then fenced what he stole from them.
They recovered several items, including a 60-inch flat-screen TV that they said was wedged in the rear passenger compartment of the car he was driving, Police Chief Robert A. Carney said.
Singletary, of Raleigh, later pleaded guilty to reduced burglary charges and was sentenced in July to four years in prison. He'll be eligible for parole on Dec. 27.
Lab results this week helped produce charges against Singletary for two additional residential burglaries.
Singletary also was charged with criminal mischief for damage that Carney said he caused during one of the burglaries when he cut and stole copper pipes from the house.
He "remains a suspect in numerous other burglaries in the area," the chief said.
Singletary is serving time in Southern State Correctional Facility in Cumberland County.
The 5-foot-11-inch, 280-pound Singletary has an adult criminal history in New Jersey that stretches back more than 20 years — including arrests for burglary, robbery and drug and weapons possession, court records show.
