Authorities Seek Help Finding SUV In Fatal Teaneck Pedestrian Crash

TEANECK, N.J. -- Authorities are seeking the public's help finding the driver of a large black SUV that fled after striking and killing a 59-year-old Teaneck man as he crossed Cedar Lane a block from his home on Christmas night.

Steven J. Leitgeb was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he died, after the 6:47 p.m. crash at Garrison Avenue, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

The SUV kept going east on Cedar Lane, he said.

"The vehicle may have damage to the front passenger bumper, hood and windshield," the prosecutor said.
