TEANECK, N.J. — Former Teaneck resident Juan Carlos Rodriguez Barrera died Thursday, March 24.
Barreara graduated from Seton Hall University and finished his education at Sophia University in Japan.
He spent his career in Japan as an English teacher.
He enjoyed climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Fuji, scuba diving down the Nile and sky diving.
He is survived by his parents, sister, and brother-in-law, as well as his grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A memorial service to remember Barrera will be offered from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Harvest Japan, which provides aid to the victims of the Kumamoto earthquake.
