"Gemach" is a Hebrew word that means "act of kindness," and usually means a free loan fund. This organization lends medical equipment, including regular and motorized wheelchairs, walkers, knee scooters, canes, crutches and shower chairs, among other items.

According to the organization's website, after Renee Chaya Levy died after a six-year battle with cancer, her family "decided to form this medical equipment gemach in her memory, to help those in Bergen county who need it."
