Titled Activism: Making Change, the festival features Stanley Nelson's "The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution," a documentary history of the Black Panthers, which includes images of armed black men patrolling streets and walking into the California Legislature.

Maxime Giroux’s “Felix and Meira” is another featured film, and tells the story of an unconventional romance between two people living vastly different lives mere blocks away from one another Montreal’s Mile End district.

“Margarita With a Straw,” a featured film sponsored by the Teaneck League of Women Voters tells the story of Margarita, a young Indian woman with cerebral palsy who follows her dreams by moving to the U.S.

The program for the festival is still being developed, but will include other features, documentaries and shorts, along with discussions following each film.

A Puffin Foundation project, the organization raised more than $2,000 for this year's event through an Indiegogo campaign. The festival runs from Thursday, Nov. 5 through Saturday Nov. 8,
