Dream Of Sushi? Catch Teaneck Film About Top Japanese Chef

TEANECK, N.J. -- The art of sushi unfolds at the Teaneck Library's Friday Morning Documentary program on Nov. 4.

"Jiro Dreams of Sushi" (81 minutes, rated PG) is a 2011 American documentary film directed by David Gerb. 

The film follows Jiro Ono, an 85-year-old sushi master and owner of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a Michelin three-star restaurant, on his continuing quest to perfect the art of sushi. 

Sukiyabashi Jiro is a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant located in a Tokyo subway station. Jiro Ono serves a tasting menu of roughly 20 courses, for a total of 30,000 Japanese yen ($292 USD). 

The film starts at 10:30 a.m. and doors open at 10 a.m. Admission is free and open to all. No registration is necessary.

The library's Friday Morning Documentary program includes lecturers or films covering topics in the fields of art, music, science, literature, history and travel. 

Teaneck Public Library is located at 840 Teaneck Road, Teaneck.
