Jumping from 4,000 to 13,000 square feet, Tim and Robyn Lynch will host the grand opening of their new space on Sunday, Sept. 27.
“Most of our clients are from Bergenfield, Dumont, Teaneck and the Bogota area,” Tim Lynch said. “I knew if I stayed remotely close, our clients would appreciate that.”
As an athlete growing up, Lynch played basketball and football through high school and college.
“I remembered being young and working so hard on drills, my mom asked me to get a trainer. I said 'No',” he said. “I am 37 now and no one back then was using trainers.”
That changed when Lynch transferred to Montclair State University in his senior year.
“They had trainers and my pains in my knees and joints from over use started going away and I was able to dunk a basketball for the first time,” he said.
Inspired by his experience with the trainer, he began coaching kids in strength and conditioning.
“Whatever this guy was doing, I wanted to show kids there is another part to the sport to train to be stronger and faster and not have pains and be more explosive,” Lynch said.
Maxability is a 100% training facility for both children and adults. It also offers Crossfit classes.
“All of our coaches have been athletes of mine,” Lynch said. “I’ve never hired anyone from outside. Two of my head coaches I’ve been training since they were freshman in high school. They went away to college and came back.“We are always working with someone in some sort of coaching aspect, whether it’s a group or private session.”
