UPDATE: A North Arlington driver and his female passenger from Bergenfield were killed when their speeding sedan slammed into the side of a tractor-trailer in North Bergen before dawn Wednesday, authorities said. : Authorities Find Vehicle That Killed Wedding Guest Outside Bergen Catering Hall
UPDATE: Authorities have the hit-and-run vehicle that struck and killed a 20-year-old wedding guest from Massachusetts outside a popular Route 17 catering hall Saturday night. Now they just need to determine who was driving. Witnesses and several occupants who were in the vehicle at the time were being interviewed. A 57-year-old motorcyclist from Garfield was killed in a crash Wednesday night on northbound Route 17 in Paramus, authorities said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred after the rider lost control of his Harley Davidson outside the McDonald's near East Ridgewood Avenue and hit a guardrail shortly before 8 p.m., Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg confirmed. Pedestrian Fatally Struck On Route 202 In Branchburg
A Somerset County man was struck and killed on Route 202 in Branchburg Township Monday night, authorities said. Surinder Singh, 39, of Branchburg was struck by a 2019 Acura while attempting to cross Route 202 southbound near Huyler Road around 7:40 p.m., Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson and Somerset County Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor said in a joint release. A 55-year-old pedestrian who was struck Friday night at the Rockland County border in Montvale died of her injuries, authorities confirmed. Responders found the Montvale resident in cardiac arrest, bleeding from a traumatic head wound, in the northbound lane of Chestnut Ridge Road a little more than 50 yards from the border, Police Chief Joseph Sanfilippo said. A 25-year-old motorcyclist from Union County died when he collided with a car on Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania, authorities said. Randy Reyes-Jaquez of Elizabeth was headed northbound in Bucks County at a high speed when he crossed in front of a car also trying to take the same exit around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Pennsylvania State Police said. An 83-year-old Wayne accountant was struck and killed as he crossed a township road Tuesday night, authorities confirmed. Stuart Kahlenberg, a practicing CPA, was struck around 6:40 p.m. while crossing Hamburg Turnpike near Mountain Ridge Drive, they said. West New York Man, 22, Killed In Motorcycle Crash On Turnpike In Secaucus
A West New York man was killed when he struck a guardrail on the New Jersey Turnpike with his motorcycle Saturday, State Police said. Agustin G. Amendola, 22, was leaving the Turnpike at Exit 16E in Secaucus around 10:40 a.m. when he hit the guardrail and was thrown from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene. In a tragic coincidence, he is one of two young men killed on the Turnpike Saturday from Hudson County. A North Bergen man, also aged 22, died in a crash in Burlington County later that day.
