First Floor Collapses In Vernon Township House Fire The first floor of a Vernon Township home collapsed in a fire Monday, fire officials said. Fire companies from the township and surrounding areas were called to the Route 94 southbound home around 1:12 p.m. for the second-alarm blaze, Vernon Township Fire Marshall Lou Tosto said. No injuries were reported in the fire, which was under control as of 4:20 p.m., according to Tosto. Mutual aid was provided by Vernon Township fire companies: McAfee Fire Department, Highland Lakes Fire Department and the Pochuck Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
