Hackettstown Man Asks Couple At Home Depot About Smashing Woman's Skull In With Pickaxe: Police A Hackettstown man approached a couple at a local Home Depot to ask about smashing a woman’s skull in with a pickaxe, authorities charged. The 66-year-old man was shopping at the Mansfield store on August 8 when he approached a couple while holding a pickaxe type tool and asked, “what side do you think I should use to smash her [expletive] skull in?” township police said in a Tuesday release. The couple reached out to authorities, unsure of whether the man’s comment was directed at them, police said. A follow-up investigation led to the man’s identification.
