Morris County Teacher, Mom Cheryl Granito Dies After Breast Cancer Battle Cheryl Granito, a teacher in Morris County, died on Sunday, March 10, after battling metastatic breast cancer, according to her obituary. Born in Toronto, Granito moved to Chatham and grew up in Madison, graduating from Madison High School, her obituary reads.  Graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 1998, she met her husband Mark in 2002, and the two married in 2008 before settling in Denville, according to her obituary. 'Never Made One Excuse:' Beloved Morris County Science Teacher Dies After Long Cancer Battle Beloved Madison High School science teacher Jennifer Freeman died at home Saturday after a long battle with cancer. Freeman worked at the school for 19 years teaching environmental science and physics, Principal David Drechsel said in a letter sent to parents. Freeman had also served as supervisor of the school’s science department for a period of time, he said. Record-Breaking Madison Track Star Loses Leg In Freak Accident A record-breaking Madison High School track and field star suffered a freak accident in which his left leg required an amputation. RJ Graddy (Class of 2011) severed an artery in his leg in the incident, which happened in Austin, Texas -- where he is currently living, according to a GoFundMe page. The page had raised more than $11,600 for Graddy as of Tuesday afternoon. In 2010, Graddy broke school records with a 43-foot, 1-inch triple jump at a Teaneck meet.
