Police have released the identity of the driver who was killed after her vehicle plunged into the Passaic River behind a Morris County shopping center Tuesday morning. Lajoy Battle, 41, was found unconscious with no pulse as officers responded to the crash behind HomeGoods at the Valley Mall in Gillette around 10:30 a.m., Long Hill Township Police Chief Ahmed Naga said. Menorahs Sold At HomeGoods, Marshalls Recalled For Catching Fire
One of the most famous and religiously significant styles of candle holders has been recalled since it may catch fire— which would be a problem since traditionally candles use flames. The recall comes after TJX Companies— which includes HomeGoods, Marshalls and Homesense— received three reports of the menorahs catching on fire while holding lit candles, according to a release by US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Somerset County Woman Left Dog In Hot Car At HomeGoods Parking Lot, Chester Police Say
A Somerset County woman has been charged after police say she left her dog in a hot car in the parking lot of a Morris County HomeGoods store. The dog was found distressed in the vehicle in the parking lot of HomeGoods in Chester on the afternoon of July 15, local police said in a release. Officers removed the dog from the car, which was left unlocked with the keys inside, police said. The owner — a Peapack woman whose name was not released — later told officers that she had left the dog in the car while she was shopping in a nearby store. Police have nearly lost count of the number of times serial car burglar Isaiah Jones has been released only to strike again in community after community in Bergen and Hudson counties.
