Trapped Dog, Victims Rescued From Route 287 Crash By Firefighters (Photos) Firefighters made quick work in rescuing trapped people and one dog from a vehicle crash off of Route 287 in Somerset County Saturday, June 10. The crash occurred just after 6:30 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway in Bridgewater, near mile post 20.4, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. A Mercedes and a Hyundai were involved in the crash, leaving the two occupants of the Hyundai temporarily entrapped, Curry said. Suspicious Somerset County Fire Under Investigation Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out early Tuesday morning at a vacant Somerset County home. Firefighters from the Country Hills Fire Company, Green Knoll Fire Department -- along with the North Branch fire chief -- responded to the Burnt Mill Road home in Branchburg around 6:20 a.m., thanks to a 9-1-1 call, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H.
