Drivers Not Seriously Injured In Crash That Closed Garden State Parkway For Hours Two drivers suffered minor injuries in a crash that closed the Garden State Parkway for hours, authorities said. A Nissan and Volkswagon collided in the northbound lanes just before 8 p.m. near mile post 168.1 in Hillsdale, right past Demarest Farms on Wednesday, Sept. 20, according to witnesses and New Jersey State Police. One car was positioned in the southbound lanes under the Werimus Road overpass. The other was in the northbound lanes, facing the opposite way. Both cars were believed to have been heading north.
